McDonald’s has reintroduced chicken strips to its menu with the launch of McCrispy Strips, accompanied by a new Creamy Chili Dip. These strips are made from 100% white meat chicken, coated in a golden-brown breading seasoned with black pepper, offering a mild spice profile.
It has been a while since I’ve reviewed something from McDonald’s, so I was really excited when these new chicken strips got introduced. The texture of the McCrispy Strips is slightly crispy on the outside but not as crunchy as their discontinued Chicken Selects or Buttermilk Crispy Tenders. The breading is a bit thinner and less crunchy, with a more pronounced spice profile than its predecessors. Inside, the breast meat chicken was juicy and tender.

The Creamy Chili Dip pairs well with the strips, providing a savory, slightly tangy, and mildly spicy flavor that complements the chicken without overwhelming it. This new sauce has a nice balance of heat and creaminess, making it a standout addition to McDonald’s sauce lineup.
Compared to McNuggets, these strips are a more substantial meal and are a great alternative for anyone wanting a chicken option that isn’t on a bun. Although the strips do not have the thick, crunchy coating like the Chicken Selects, they are a solid choice for a chicken meal and hopefully remain a permanent menu item.

Overall, the new McCrispy Strips provide a slightly crispy, mildly seasoned chicken strip with a flaky interior that’s complemented by the flavorful creamy chili sauce, making them a great choice for someone looking for a non-burger option. I would highly recommend giving these a try!
Also heard today that McDonald’s just announced the snack wrap is coming back, so I’ll try those out too. I will compare them to Popeyes and see which one is the better choice.
