Had to try The McDonaldland Meal and the TMNT x Hello Kitty Happy Meal because both of them had creative, fun designs that caught our eye.

QPC or Nuggets With Fries

What I really appreciated in this meal was having the choice between a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets. These were standard items and nothing was changed about them except for the packaging. And the packaging design was where the fun starts.

I really loved the design on the box for the QPC, but there was a mix up when I bought the nuggets version and I didn’t get one with special packaging. The fries were as reliably crispy and golden as ever, tasty as usual.

Mt. McDonaldland Shake

The showstopper is the Mt. McDonaldland Shake. Its sky-blue base swirled with pink whipped cream draws plenty of curiosity, and even for those not typically fans of blue raspberry like me, the flavor is pleasantly balanced—fruity, creamy, with vanilla underneath and a light berry note that avoids being overly sugary. The shake’s aesthetic alone is enough for some serious photo ops, but I managed to mess that up. Sadly, I only have the overhead group picture with the shake and not a closeup. It was so good that it disappeared too quickly. While novelty drinks can be hit or miss, this one tasted great.

Souvenir Kit

Beyond the food, the real magic is in the collectible souvenir kit. Six different versions are available, each designed around McDonaldland characters: Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie, Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, and the Fry Friends. Opening the tin is a delight: inside, there’s a postcard, sticker sheet, and playful extras that spark genuine joy. The artwork on everything has vibrant colors and whimsical touches. The stickers and postcards were instant favorites—details that made this meal feel worth it.

Packaging Design

Every part of the meal radiates modern nostalgia, from the graphics on the bag to the illustrated nuggets box and toy packaging. It’s clear a lot of thought went into making every piece collectible and memorable, and nothing feels generic.

I noticed today that you can buy just the souvenir kit alone instead of being forced to get the entire meal, and I really appreciate that option.

TMNT x Hello Kitty Happy Meal

Along with The McDonaldland Meal, we had to try the TMNT x Hello Kitty Happy Meal because the toys were super adorable. Being huge fans of both the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hello Kitty, this mashup is perfect. Each meal comes with a unique toy, featuring a mashup TMNT x Hello Kitty character dressed in ninja gear, which makes it really fun to collect different ones. This was such a cool idea for a Happy Meal and we had so much fun trading toys with other family members.

Overall, both meals are a joyful celebration for fans and newcomers alike. Between the fun shake and craveable classics, plus a well-designed souvenir kit or character mashup and creative packaging, it turns a regular lunch or dinner into a fun outing. I’d highly recommend both and am thrilled that McDonald’s is putting so much effort and design details into everything.
