We’re already fans of their broccoli cheddar soup. Got the new Panera Broccoli Cheddar Mac and Cheese to see how it compares.
I ordered the large size with a side of chips. Normally I select the You Pick Two and get a half salad. If I could go back again, I’d probably get this as part of a You Pick Two with a salad as well. The chips were okay, but it’s a lot of salt. A French baguette side or fruit cup would have gone better with it. I wish Panera would offer more chip options, like baked or with less salt. They used to baked chips at our Panera…I miss those days.
From their site, it is “shell pasta in a blend of creamy cheese sauce and tangy white cheddar cheese, simmered with seasoned broccoli, and carrots.” It tasted like they poured their broccoli cheddar soup onto their mac and cheese. Super rich with a strong cheesy flavor. A great option if you usually order their Broccoli Cheddar Soup with the Mac and Cheese. You could select this and get a salad as well.
We also tried the Bacon, Scrambled Egg & Tomato Wrap. I was going to post a separate review, but the pics I took look awful. It’s tough to make a wrap look decent in pictures. I have so much respect for food photographers—it’s really tough! It has “bacon, scrambled egg, grape tomatoes, emerald greens, Vermont white cheddar, mustard horseradish sauce, salt, and pepper in a Whole Grain Wrap.” I thought it tasted okay, but my husband did not like it at all. I’m guessing it was the sauce that he disliked.
I probably will stick to my Broccoli Cheddar Soup order next time. Have you tried the new Panera Broccoli Cheddar Mac and Cheese combination yet? Let me know yours thoughts in the comments below.
