Burger King Flame & Flight Combo

I recently picked up the Burger King Flame & Flight combo, an Isle of Berk bundle inspired by the new How to Train Your Dragon movie. The meal included a Whopper, mozzarella fries, a strawberry lemonade and a sundae. It’s rare to have a burger bun with special coloring, so I was excited to see how it all tasted.

This burger was my favorite part of the meal. It tasted mostly like your standard Whopper, but the colorful orange and red bun added a fun twist that I wish they would offer year-round, like they do in other countries. I kept reordering this meal in the following weeks because of how fun the burger looked, plus it was delicious.

Fiery Dragon Mozzarella Fries

We initially ordered a smaller 4-piece portion our first time trying these, which came in a little paper bag. They were really good so we ordered an 8-piece the second time around. Unfortunately, it arrived in a regular box instead of the fun wing box that you see in advertisements. These fries pack a spicy punch, and I was grateful for the cooling Hidden Valley Ranch dipping sauce and the refreshing strawberry lemonade that accompanied the combo. While I would love to see a lower-carb version with a crispy chicken or cheese coating, the current version is delicious as it is. The bright red-orange color of the breading adds to the fiery experience.

Soaring Strawberry Lemonade

It tasted just like a classic strawberry lemonade but was quite sugary. While it paired well with the spicy mozzarella sticks, I couldn’t help but wish for a version that’s not as pumped full of sugar.

Our Viking’s Chocolate Sundae arrived with a crack in the cup, so we had to eat it quickly before it melted out the side. The sundae was super cold and featured some black and green crunchy pieces that reminded me of chocolate cookie bits, kind of like an Oreo. A sprinkle of chocolate cookie powder on top added an extra touch of sweetness.

Overall, I really enjoyed this BK promo. I hope to see more colorful crossovers in the future!
