Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Bag

New Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

I didn’t realize there was a Popeyes Chicken Sandwich until we were in the drive-thru. We got the classic version to see how it matches up to Chick-fil-A.

Popeyes Chicken Sandwich has a fried white-meat chicken breast on a super buttery brioche bun. It’s topped with pickles and mayo and comes in both Classic and Spicy variants. The Spicy version comes with a spicy Cajun spread, so I opted for the Classic version so I could get an idea of the base flavors.

Although it didn’t look spectacular, it was surprisingly delicious! The chicken breast was golden and crisp on the outside and very juicy on the inside. It was cooked perfectly and there was a good amount of chicken on the sandwich for just $3.99. The pickles added a nice acidity and the brioche bun had an amazing buttery flavor that wrapped it all up nicely. There was a little too much mayo for my liking, but that was easy for me to fix. I’ll make sure to ask for light mayo next time.

Lots of mayo and the two pickles

This sandwich seems to be their answer to Chick-fil-A’s chicken sandwich. I would say it’s equal to or even better than Chick-fil-A’s, and I would be happy with either one. The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich was more flavorful to me, but it might have been the style of how they make their chicken. I’ve always found their chicken to be super crispy, but not greasy. If given the choice I would opt for the Popeyes sandwich.

This bag reminds me of the Chick-fil-A packaging for their sandwich.
